We have been asked by Robert Fleming of Kingston Ont., to sell the contents of his and the late Patsy Fleming (author of "Traditions in Wood") Kingston residence by unreserved public auction. The sale represents several generations of the Fleming/Beaman families in the Kingston area. In addition we will be offering the balance of the R G Perkins estate collection of Toronto.
To be held at the Napanee Lions Club hall on Centre St. in the town of Napanee Ont., the hall can be reached from Hwy. 401, by taking the Hwy. 41 interchange at Napanee and proceeding south on Hwy. 41 (Centre St.), through the town, over the bridge and proceed 100 yards on your left to the auction site.
Featuring, a selection of Victorian and Edwardian furnishings to include an elaborate Victorian walnut dressing stand with marble top, a walnut Davenport desk, a contemporary mahogany dining room suite in a traditional style, assorted Edwardian side chairs, an elaborately painted central European armoire, a mission oak slant front desk, book cases, oil and water colour paintings including several by the Nova Scotia/Irish painter Olga Douglas, an oil attributed to James Stark, a water colour by Andre Bieler, plus 20th century water colours and prints., a small collection of fish decoys and a selection American and Canadian decoy reference books, a quantity of sterling silver and silver plate to include both hollow ware and flat ware, a Pentax Spotmatic camera with attachments, an antique box camera, pine blanket box in original blue paint, a four drawer silver chest, framed hand coloured North American maps, several clocks, a small Georgian style corner cupboard, Library table, a small collection of painted lead soldiers, other metal toys, a Delft style charger, brass fireplace andirons C1860, ornate Chippendale mirror, large gold gilt mirror, copper ships lanterns, oriental rugs, a small quantity of wooden duck decoys, four artist proof prints of decoys by Robert Jackson, a portrait of a horse and rider by Maurice Tullock, etc. From the Perkins collection we will offer a refinished 18th century Quebec turned leg stretcher base work table, an open refinished pine washstand with two drawers, a refinished pine gate leg table, a refinished pine pail bench, several early single chairs, a collection of miniature or children's Port Neuf table wares, etc.
