To be held at the Napanee Lions Club hall on Centre St. in the town of Napanee Ont., the hall can be reached from Hwy. 401 by taking the Hwy. 49 interchange at Napanee and proceeding south on Hwy. 41 (Centre St.), through the town, over the Napanee River, through the next set of traffic lights and proceed approximately 100 yards on your left to the auction site.
I have been asked by several local collectors to dispose of parts of their collections by unreserved public auction. The collections from both eastern and western Ontario consist of a refinished pine corner cupboard with butterfly shelves and glazed top from Lennox and Addington county and dating from the 2nd ¼ 19th century, a refinished pine transitional blanket chest, a refinished comb back rocker from eastern Ontario, two mid 19th century chests of drawers, a refinished spool couch C1870, a Regency sofa dating from the 1830’s, a single stenciled pillow back side chair, a mahogany bow front sideboard dating from the turn of the last century, a walnut sideboard in varnish condition C1870, a tall oak slant top bankers desk in oak, a rosewood Spinet desk in need of some veneer work, a set of 5 stenciled bow back lodge chairs dating from the 1870’s, a set of four 1940’s captain chairs with the original stencil, two small upholstered footstools, a grandfather clock with wooden works, other antique clocks, decorated stone ware to include a Skinner sun flower and a Welding floral, several pieces of signed Brantford pottery, a quantity of both sterling silver and quality silver plated serving dishes, an assortment of antique and collectible china dishes to include blue transfer ware platter and covered tureen, a mulberry cream jug dating from the mid 19th century, several part sets of dishes, a rare RS Prussia shaving mug with a mirror imbedded in the china C1880, glass to include small collections of coloured glass salt and pepper shakers, coloured glass biscuit barrels, miniature lamp bases, coloured glass sugar shakers, carnival glass, American and Canadian patterned glass, etc., a small selection of estate and collectible jewelry, textiles to include a hand woven blue and white coverlet signed “Made By H. Wilson 1848, Kentucky”, a three colour hand woven coverlet, quilts, hooked mats, hand made linens, plus many more items too numerous to list.
