To be held at the Napanee Lions Club hall on Centre St. in the town of Napanee Ont., the hall can be reached from Hwy. 401 by taking the Hwy. 49 interchange at Napanee and proceeding south on Hwy. 41 (Centre St.), through the town, over the Napanee River, through the next set of traffic lights and proceed approximately 100 yards on your left to the auction site.


For the past 20 plus years we have started our antique auction year by having a major happening. This year’s auction will feature a selection of antiques and folk art from the continuing dispersal of the “Price Collection” plus inclusions from other eastern Ontario collections. The “Price Collection” put together over the past 40 plus years represents one of the finest collections of antiques and folk art in Canada and although we have had two memorable auctions in the past (2005 and 2007) we have in certain areas of the collection just scratched the surface.


Highlights of the sale will include folk sculptures by Gilbert Desrochers; Bruce Smith; George Cockayne; Edmond Chatigny; E. Rentz, Seaton Tompkins, Bruce Smith, a rare Horst carving of a rider on horse painted all in white, etc., a selection of antique tools and broad axes; a two board top harvest table with drawer in original painted finish measuring 6 ft. 3 inches in length, from the Sadler estate near Stirling Ont., Hastings County, a turned leg harvest table with drop leaves and a stretcher base from Quebec, from eastern Ontario, an ope4n cupboard in paint and a shoe foot cupboard base in the original red finish, a set of six stenciled chairs, an early 19th century slant front desk from Uxbridge Ont., a turned leg Birch drop leaf table from Nova Scotia,; an unusual stenciled ladder back chair from L&A county plus other ladder back rockers and armchairs; a pine kitchen table with drawer from Prince Edward County in over paint; a glazed hanging corner cupboard in original painted finish from Annapolis Royal N.S., an early 19th century chest of drawers from New Brunswick in original finish; a single drawer washstand with scalloped shelf from Prince Edward County; an early 19th century brass clockwork jack; a pair of miniature portraits in birds eye maple frames; a pair of Cree beaded moccasins; a selection of wooden ware to include scoops, ladles, round butter prints and stamps, bowls, peel etc.;  several tole ware pieces to include a painted tray and deed box, candle molds and other early household implements; textiles to include quilts from various parts of the province, hand woven blankets and coverlets, hooked rugs, catalogne rugs etc.; baskets, several Bennington type bowls; a small quantity of wrought iron fireplace implements; a selection of approximately fifty antique reference books covering various fields of interest; prints and paintings; a collection of 20th century cast book ends; duck decoys; wrought iron and cast iron trivets; a restaurant trade sign from Belleville Ont.; a 1920’s horse weather vane from Nova Scotia; a large native band box from Brantford Ont. C.1850; Lion hooked mat; games board; Lanark County dough box; Renfrew county comb box and wall box; several 20th century decorated pillows, architectural components including windows, doors and finials; ship models from Quebec; etc., etc.
